Hours: 8:15a – 12:30p Monday through Thursday

Description of Position:
Associate Teachers at Heart Rock are responsible for assisting in the facilitation of play-based, child-led, 100% outdoor program for 2-5.5-year-olds enrolled in this urban forest school. Teachers must model a healthy relationship with and curiosity for the natural world.
This person in this position will work directly with the Program Director Marie Harper.

Key Responsibilities:
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Showing respect and care for all adventurers
Constant observation
Picking up/ removing anything dangerous in our chosen play area
Assisting with toileting
Helping to shlep materials throughout the Arroyo

Physical Requirements:
Must be comfortable, working outdoors, in all weather conditions
Must be comfortable, getting dirty, able to sit on the ground
Must be comfortable with occasional handling of bugs and other small living things
Must be able to crouch, dance, dig, carry a backpack, climb, hike, and to carry up to 40 pounds

Weekly Work Requirements:
8:15 - 12:30 Monday – Thursday
Each school year runs roughly the day after Labor Day through the Thursday before Memorial Day.

Job type: part-time

Pay: $20-$25 per hour

Education:

Bachelor’s degree (preferred)

Experience:
