Job Overview

We seek an experienced legal assistant who thrives in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and excels at handling sensitive and confidential information. You will support attorneys in all case preparation and courtroom work.

Key Responsibilities

· Draft, proofread, and file legal documents (pleadings, subpoenas, discovery responses)

· Manage attorney calendars, schedule client meetings, and coordinate court dates and deadlines.

· Maintain and organize case files (physical and electronic)

· Assist with legal research and court preparation

· Communicate with clients, providing updates and responding to routine inquiries.

· Coordinate with courts, law enforcement, and other legal professionals

· Assist with billing and time entry

· Support general office administrative tasks

Qualifications

· Minimum 3 years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal (criminal defense experience strongly preferred)

· Strong understanding of criminal law terminology and procedures

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, case management software, and e-filing systems. Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines

· High level of discretion and professionalism

· Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required
