About the Role
We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Controller to lead our finance operations within a highly systemized and automated environment. This role is ideal for a finance professional who can ensure financial accuracy, provide strategic insights, and support business growth without the need to overhaul already optimized workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Oversight and Reporting
Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Supervise financial closing procedures and maintain general ledger integrity
Cash Flow and Forecasting
Systems and Process Management
Ensure financial systems (billing, reconciliation, credit card charges) are functioning effectively
Collaborate with internal teams or vendors to troubleshoot system issues and improve workflows
Compliance and Risk Management
Maintain compliance with GAAP standards, tax regulations, and internal controls
Prepare for and manage financial audits and liaise with external auditors and tax advisors
Reporting and Strategic Insight
Provide variance analysis, financial modeling, and performance metrics to support executive decision-making
Monitor and report on key financial and operational KPIs
Team Leadership and Collaboration
Lead a skilled accounting team, providing guidance and resolving exceptions without micromanagement
Support cross-functional teams with financial planning and process improvements
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred)
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Controller or in a senior accounting leadership role
Proficiency with cloud-based and automated accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Bill.com, Stripe)
Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and audit preparation
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Proven ability to lead and develop accounting staff
High attention to detail with a strategic, process-oriented mindset
