Bilingual Operations Manager – Sheet Metal Manufacturing

Position Summary:
We are looking for a dynamic and hands-on Operations Manager who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing daily operations in our sheet metal fabrication facility, driving productivity, maintaining quality standards, and developing the team. The ideal candidate is bilingual (English/Spanish), an expert in lean manufacturing, and ready to roll up their sleeves to lead by example.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily plant operations, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity across all manufacturing activities
- Lead, manage, and develop a team of production supervisors, operators, and support staff
- Implement and sustain Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, JIT, or Six Sigma practices to optimize workflow and reduce waste
- Monitor production schedules, manage plant KPIs, and ensure on-time delivery
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to resolve issues and improve processes
- Maintain high standards of safety, compliance, and housekeeping across the shop floor
- Serve as a cultural bridge, facilitating strong communication in both English and Spanish between leadership and plant personnel
- Utilize computer tools available Excel, ERP, Resource Planning to efficiently manage projects and provide timely and accurate reports
- Actively participate in hiring, onboarding, and training efforts to support team growth and retention as well as best practices in disciplinary actions when necessary.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience working directly in a manufacturing environment that utilizes sheet metal in the manufacturing processes (not distribution, outsourcing, or import-based roles as those doe not involve hands on manufacturing and team leadership knowledge)
- 10+ years of leadership experience in a hands-on manufacturing management role
- Proven success implementing Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, JIT, or Six Sigma practices
- Experience and knowledge of practical application of OSHA safety compliance
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Position is on-site. Must be able to work onsite Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM, with flexibility for Saturdays as needed
- Strong communication skills, practical leadership style, and a team-first mindset
- Above average presentation and training skills
- Proven success in collaborating with HR on issues related hiring, training, disciplining and terminating employees
- Computer literacy: Able to utilize Excel, ERP systems, Word, Outlook Email, Teams Online Virtual Meetings
- Must be able to work on site daily M-F 6-4 and flexible on Saturdays depending on workload.
Preferred Backgrounds:
Experience with companies in industries such as: Aerospace or defense manufacturing, Fabrication or custom manufacturing, Automotive customization, Hardware, furniture, or appliance production
