Part-time 20-25 hours a week

Position Summary
The Accounting Clerk will provide key support to the Finance Team by assisting with accounting and general administrative duties in the Finance Department.
Key areas of responsibility will include entry-level accounting duties, data entry, assisting with audits, and performing general office tasks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
Maintain physical files for all department documents, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, bank statements, and journal entries.
Create and maintain electronic files for all department documents; will include the scanning and detailed labeling of these documents.
Process all incoming and outgoing mail for the Finance Department.
Perform data entry for recording journal entries in the financial system as assigned.
Assist the Grants & Contracts Analyst with managing all records related to grant contracts, reports, and files.
Assist the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivables functions with specific duties to strengthen internal control.
Perform routine entry-level accounting tasks and reconciliations.
Assist with recording donations and maintaining donation files.
Assist with all grant audits and the annual primary audit by compiling and preparing documents requested by auditors.
Perform bank deposit runs and electronic check deposits.
Update and maintain accounting databases as needed.
Serve as backup to the main Reception area.
Assist with special projects or other duties as assigned.
Participates in teamwork-related functions as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
Experience working in an office environment, 1 year minimum.
Bookkeeping/Entry-Level Accounting Experience is highly desirable
College level coursework in business, finance or accounting highly desirable
Excellent customer service, communication, organization and detail-oriented skills
Proficient computer skills; experience with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook; experience with financial systems.
