We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee and manage our public construction projects from start to finish.
Position Overview:
The Superintendent is responsible for on-site management and coordination of construction activities, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards. This is a leadership role that requires excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all on-site construction activities, including scheduling, quality control, and safety compliance.
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to project plans.
- Review and interpret construction plans, specifications, and schedules to coordinate daily tasks.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality standards and safety regulations are met.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including clients, architects, and inspectors.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to the Project Manager and executive team.
- Address and resolve any issues or delays that arise during the construction process.
- Ensure all work complies with building codes, regulations, and project specifications.
- Maintain accurate daily logs, reports, and other project documentation.
Qualifications:
To qualify for this job you must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in public sector construction, If you do not specifically have Public Works Construction experience please do not apply.
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
