Millwright/Welder Position
Job Overview
The Millwright/Welder position combines the skills of welding and millwright tasks, including installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery and mechanical systems. This dual role emphasizes welding techniques but also requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, ensuring that candidates can perform precision work in both areas. The Millwright/Welder will work in both shop and field environments, contributing to the efficient and safe operation of industrial equipment and structures. The ideal candidate is safety-oriented, highly skilled in welding, and knowledgeable in mechanical maintenance and installation.
Key Responsibilities
- Welding: Perform various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick, etc.) on metals such as mild steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum for both fabrication and repair. - Millwright Tasks: Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial machinery, conveyors, motors, pumps, and other mechanical systems. This includes equipment alignment, leveling, and assembly. - Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics for both welding and mechanical work. - Routine Maintenance: Inspect, clean, and perform routine maintenance on machinery, equipment at various plants or at our shop. - Quality Control: Inspect all completed welding tasks and mechanical systems to ensure they meet industry standards and safety regulations. - Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines, using the correct PPE, identifying hazards, and ensuring safe operation of welding equipment and mechanical systems. - Team Collaboration: Work effectively with other team members, including welders, millwrights, supervisors, and field technicians to complete projects efficiently.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Certification
- High school diploma or equivalent required. - AWS (American Welding Society) certification is preferred. - Millwright certification or equivalent mechanical experience is a plus. - OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $32.00 - $42.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
