The Shear Operator is responsible for operating a power shear to cut metal sheets or other materials to specified dimensions and tolerances. This role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, or production instructions.
Schedule: 6:00AM-2:30PM
Responsibilities:
- Master the Machinery: Operate manual, semi-automatic, or automatic shear machines to cut materials with precision to exact specifications.
- Handle Materials Like A Pro: Load materials onto the shear machine, ensuring they are properly aligned and securely positioned for maximum efficiency.
- Quality Above All Else: Inspect every cut for accuracy, quality, and conformity to specifications, making sure that every product meets the highest standards.
- Keep It on Track: Maintain accurate records of materials processed, machine maintenance, and production output, ensuring everything stays on schedule
- Collaborate Like a Pro: Work closely with operators, supervisors, and production teams to meet production goals and deadlines.
Qualifications:
- MUST be able to read a tape measure.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment is a plus but not required!
- Basic math skills
- Physical ability to lift, move, and position heavy materials (up to 60lbs on daily basis)
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
