Wilcox Machine Company, a Los Angeles based large job shop machine shop is searching for an individual with strong fitting/welding skills. We specialize in welding/fabrication and machining of large scale (up to 12,000 pounds), prototype and short run production parts and assemblies. Our diverse customer base spans commercial, government, and aerospace industries. We operate two shifts per day in an 80,000 square foot facility. Founded in the 1950's, Wilcox Machine continues to offer high quality, cost effective manufacturing services to all of our valued customers.
Responsibilities primarily consist of fitting a variety of weldments, mostly prototype in nature, working from manufacturing drawings supplied by customers. Depending on work load, you may perform the welding as well. Also to operate as a lead person for the shop as needed.
- Must have 5 years of experience.
- Must be familiar with ASME Sect IX, AWS D1.1, and AWS D17.1 codes.
- Proper selection of specific weld procedures for a specific application.
- Familiar with TIG, MIG, Submerged Arc processes.
- Strong blueprint reading and shop math skills
- Experience with layouts of large fabrications.
- Prior hands on welding experience.
- Good communication skills/leadership abilities.
- Prior supervision, lead man experience is beneficial.
