Accounts Payable Clerk I
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week), Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Accounts Payable Clerk I is part of the Accounting Department and reports directly to the Controller.
This is an hourly position, and wages are dependent on experience. While prior experience is not required, the ideal candidate will have at least one year of full-cycle accounts payable experience, with two or more years preferred.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Process check runs for inventory vendors, wine bar, A/R credits, and customer refunds.
- Handle vendor inquiries related to payments, statements, credits, and resale certificates.
- Match, reconcile, and enter vendor invoices and credits not auto-validated.
- Create debit memos for returned stationery items.
- Process special inventory credits (e.g., price discrepancies, COOP).
- Manage statement research and support complex reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate vendor records in Sage.
- Send monthly letters to recover A/P credit balances.
- Assist with general accounting tasks as needed.
The ideal candidate must be dependable, have a positive attitude, be eager to learn, and be well organized. They should work well both independently and with coworkers and possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.50 - $21.00 per hour
