Job Title: Assistant Sales Manager

SUMMARY
Helps the sales manager to monitor the new- and used-vehicle sales departments and the performance of all employees within those two departments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Essential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Arrive to work, an hour before your crew.
- Walk the lot
- Review deals from previous night
- Print out all ups from computer
- Review phone log
- Check finance for any problems
- Have a team meeting
- Practice write-ups, walk-arounds
- Train on Product knowledge at least once a week
- Meet with each salesman and do one on one copy
- Maintain an owner follow-up system that encourages repeat and referral business and customer satisfaction
- Keep good daily and weekly record on your sales team
- Follow up on pre-checks, be backs, sold customers and deals we did not make
- Ensure every prospect gets entered into the Reynolds computer system
- Take a turn over from any salesperson that needs assistance
- Assists in hiring, training, motivating, counseling and monitoring the performance of all new- and used-vehicle sales personnel.
- Assists in directing and scheduling the activities of all department employees, ensuring proper staffing at all times.
- Assists in developing the sales department budget and minimizing expenses.
- Assists in forecasting aggressive yet realistic monthly goals and objectives for the department and for individual salespeople and provides them with the support to meet these goals.
- Assists in the development of improvement programs for salespeople who are having difficulty reaching their objectives.
- Ensures that dealership policies and procedures are understood and followed by salespeople.
- Helps the sales manager maintain a balanced inventory based on customer and market statistics.
- Assists salespeople in closing deals when necessary.
- Shares responsibility with the sales manager for planning and leading sales meetings.
- Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect vehicle sales.
- Strives for harmony and teamwork with all other departments.
- Attends managers meetings as requested.
- Immediately report to management any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its employees, or customers.
- Comply with all company policies as required. ie: Meal and rest period policy, timekeeping, etc. Please refer to the Employee Handbook for further detail.
- Complete all required HR training modules in KPA
- Complete all required certification courses respective to position.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and immediately inform management of any changes in its status.
- Maintain a professional appearance. ie: a high level of personal grooming, hygiene, and uniform appearance. See Employee Handbook for more detail.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent. One year of sales experience. Supervisory experience preferred.
- Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The Assistant Sales Manager works both indoors and out. Moving about the dealership facility and lot to communicate with salespeople and customers. S/he works closely with the used vehicle department and the F&I department to transport paperwork and to discuss sales. Weekend, evening, and holiday hours will be required. May go on test-drives.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
