Duties and responsibilities
- Screen potential new clients by conducting telephonic intakes.
- Communicate with clients to provide case updates and obtain new relevant case information.
- Maintain daily calendar and schedules for attorneys, arranging appointments and meetings; making travel arrangements.
- Organize and accurately maintain physical and electronic documents and files, including mail, e-service, and e-filed documents.
- Create and maintain working files and binders as requested.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of internet resources to perform basic legal and background research.
- Assist paralegal and attorneys by preparing letters, reports, memoranda, presentations and other documents for court filings, depositions and trial.
- Organize and prepare documents for production.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree
- Minimum 1 year of legal secretarial experience in litigation.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to apply strong attention to detail to all levels of work.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work under pressure and complete job assignments in an accurate and timely manner.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective internal and external client relationships.
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management and staff and a variety of external entities including clients and prospective clients of the Firm, opposing counsel, and court staff.
- Highly proficient with Windows-based software used by the firm, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; Adobe Acrobat Pro, Lexis and Westlaw.
- Fluency in Spanish (both conversational and written)
Salary and Benefits
Starting salary $50,000 per year (Exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience). Medical insurance. Paid time off.
