Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Electro-Mechanical Technician to join our plant maintenance team. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining high-tech packaging and processing equipment used in a food-grade manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will ensure optimal equipment performance, perform preventive maintenance, and support urgent breakdown repairs to minimize production downtime. This position also involves equipment relocation and installation, requiring full rigging capabilities and strict adherence to safety and food quality standards.
Key Responsibilities % Time Responsibilities 80% Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on high-speed packaging and process machinery. Repair electrical and mechanical components, motors, conveyors, pumps, and water/product lines. 10% Support equipment start-up, ensuring smooth daily operation of production lines. 5% Conduct light fabrication and stainless-steel welding for equipment repairs or improvements. 5% Assist with equipment relocation, rigging, and setup in coordination with project and production teams. – Respond to production support calls, complete work orders, and perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications -
Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance within a dairy or food manufacturing facility.

Trained by OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) technicians.

Proficient in both mechanical and industrial electrical troubleshooting and repair.

Capable of performing stainless steel welding.

Familiar with boiler operation, troubleshooting, and repair.

Valid welding certification.
Preferred Qualifications -
Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Strong knowledge of dairy processing systems, including CIP, HTST, and packaging lines.

Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)Must have experience fixing/ maintaining high speed packaging, food packaging machines.
- Experience with electrical work
- Experience with Pneumatics and Hydraulics cylinders
Expertise in preventive maintenance for pumps, valves, gearboxes, and piping systems.

Skilled in diagnosing issues on electro-mechanical systems and PLC-based equipment.

Ability to manage maintenance of steam, water treatment, and wastewater systems.

Comfortable with high-pressure breakdown situations—responding quickly to restore operations.

Ability to rebuild complex equipment components (e.g., pumps, grinders).

Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and food safety regulations.

Proper use and handling of hazardous materials and chemicals.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements -
Must be able to work in a plant environment including hot, cold, humid, and noisy conditions.

Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting of up to 50 lbs.

Must be comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and with PPE.
