Nursing Assistant Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. As a Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients in various settings, including Level I Trauma Centers, ICU, PICU, and outpatient facilities. Your primary responsibility will be to assist patients with daily activities and ensure their comfort and well-being. This position requires a strong understanding of physiology and the ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations, including seniors and those with dementia.
Duties
- Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
- Provide catheter care and support for patients requiring specialized medical attention.
- Monitor vital signs and report any changes to nursing staff.
- Help lift and transfer patients safely using appropriate techniques.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient areas.
- Support emergency medicine procedures as needed in high-pressure situations.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.
- Document patient information accurately in medical records.
- Offer emotional support and companionship to patients during their recovery.
Requirements
- Certification as a Nursing Assistant or equivalent training is preferred.
- Knowledge of physiology and basic medical terminology.
- Experience in senior care or dementia care is an asset.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments such as emergency medicine or trauma settings.
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Physical ability to lift patients and perform tasks that require stamina throughout shifts.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if necessary.

Pay: $23.87 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
