Electrician
We are currently seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Electrician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems for a variety of customers, ensuring that all work complies with safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Install and Repair Electrical Equipment and Fixtures: Install wiring, lighting, outlets, switches, and electrical panels. Perform repairs and upgrades to existing electrical systems in both residential and commercial settings.
- Install Raceway and Cable Tray Systems: Install various types of raceways, conduit, and cable tray systems to support electrical wiring and communication cables in accordance with electrical codes and client specifications.
- Troubleshoot Motor and Control Systems: Diagnose and repair issues with motors, generators, and control systems, including troubleshooting PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), relays, and other electrical components.
- Perform Routine Maintenance on Electrical Wiring and Systems: Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems, including circuits, wiring, and control systems, to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Ensure Adherence to Safety and Quality Codes: Follow all federal, state, and local electrical codes, and maintain compliance with safety regulations, ensuring that all installations, repairs, and maintenance work meet industry standards.
- Collaborate with Contractors and Team Members: Work alongside other electricians, engineers, and contractors on large projects, providing technical support and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Conduct Testing and Inspections: Use tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and clamp meters to test and inspect electrical systems and equipment for functionality and safety compliance.
- Provide Technical Guidance: Assist in the training of apprentices or junior electricians and provide guidance on complex electrical issues.
Qualifications:
- Previous Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in electrical work, including residential, commercial, and industrial installations and repairs. Familiarity with various types of electrical systems, including low-voltage, high-voltage, and automation systems.
- Knowledge of Electrical Schematics and Blueprints: Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals to plan and execute installations and repairs accurately.
- Familiarity with Electrical Equipment and Tools: Experience working with electrical tools and equipment such as multimeters, conduit benders, wire strippers, drills, and power tools. Knowledge of safety tools and equipment like circuit testers and lockout/tagout systems.
- Strong Troubleshooting Skills: Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities to diagnose electrical issues and develop effective solutions. Ability to work independently and efficiently in high-pressure situations.
- Licensing and Certifications: Valid electrician’s license (or equivalent certification) in accordance with state regulations. Additional certifications such as OSHA 10 or 30, first aid, or specialized equipment certifications are a plus.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and perform physically demanding tasks while adhering to safety guidelines.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail in order to accurately interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications, ensuring that all work is completed to code and client specifications.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with clients, contractors, and team members. Ability to explain technical issues to non-technical personnel clearly.
