FABRICATION WELDER - Custom Work (non production type)
POSITION SUMMARY
This occupation requires electric arc, inert gas arc and gas welding to perform construction, maintenance, overhaul, repair and modification of machinery, equipment, building and structures.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Determines the sequence of welding operations to construct, overhaul, repair and modify machine tools, equipment, building, and structures by interpreting blueprints, sketches, written and verbal instructions.
- Performs such typical operations as welding by gas or electric arc, overhead and on vertical; high pressures areas such as lines and boilers subject to high pressure where extreme care must be exercised to prevent leaks and cracks; parts subject to extreme stress such as gear teeth, shafts and fly wheels where any imperfection of the weld will result in failure of the parts.
- Does rework, bending and forming of the same level of difficulty as other work described herein.
- May lay out, incidental to welding, parts and structural shapes by locating guide lines for circular cutouts, bevels, notches, bending and forming, by following blueprints, sketches, verbal and written instructions or trade practice.
- Pass and maintain required certification and municipal and state license if required.
- Use blueprints and sketches. Use mathematics including decimals and fractions.
- Perform other work as needed.

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
