Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Level 3 Market Refrigeration Technician with 4-5 years of hands-on experience in commercial refrigeration. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining complex refrigeration systems used in supermarkets and other retail environments. A Level 3 Technician is expected to work with minimal supervision, assist in mentoring junior techs, and ensure customer satisfaction through technical expertise and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot medium- and low-temperature rack systems, reach-ins, walk-ins, and related components.
- Perform service, repair, and preventive maintenance on a wide range of refrigeration equipment, including parallel rack systems, condensers, and EMS controls.
- Identify root causes of failures and recommend/implement effective solutions.
- Install and commission replacement compressors, valves, motors, and other major components.
- Interpret electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams accurately.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, EPA, and industry regulations.
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
- Provide on-call and emergency support as needed on a rotating schedule.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and customers.
- Assist with training and guidance of Level 1 and Level 2 technicians. Requirements:
- 4-5 years of commercial/market refrigeration experience (supermarket environments preferred).
- Strong understanding of refrigeration cycles, controls (mechanical & digital), and EMS systems (i.e., Emerson E2, Danfoss, CPC).
- Proficiency in using gauges, multimeters, and refrigeration diagnostic tools.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- EPA Universal Certification required.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.
- Willingness to travel locally and participate in on-call rotation.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35.50 - $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
