Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced to join our non-union team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and helping with, electrical installations and repairs on construction sites, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, including both low and high voltage applications, as well as the ability to read blueprints and schematics. As a Lead Electrician, you will guide a team of electricians, providing mentorship and support while ensuring project timelines are met.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of electricians on construction sites.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including low voltage and high voltage wiring.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine project requirements.
- Utilize power tools and testing equipment such as ohmmeters to ensure proper functionality of electrical systems.
- Ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant regulations.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
- Train junior electricians on best practices for safety, installation techniques, and equipment usage.
- Conduct regular inspections of work performed to ensure quality standards are met.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a commercial electrician with a strong background in construction site operations.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics related to electrical systems.
- Familiarity with logic controllers and their applications in electrical installations.
- Strong knowledge of NEC regulations and safety standards related to electrical work.
- Ability to work with both low voltage and high voltage systems effectively.
- Experience using power tools safely and efficiently in various environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues.
- Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication skills to effectively manage a team.
