VantagePoint Alliance has direct hire jobs for experienced HVAC-R Service Technicians to support multi-site retail environments. The role involves servicing and maintaining HVAC, refrigeration, and various mechanical systems across convenience store locations. Technicians will handle a diverse range of service requests, conduct preventative maintenance, and perform minor repairs across multiple disciplines including HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and general electrical. This role requires a self-motivated individual with strong technical knowledge and the ability to work independently while ensuring high-quality standards and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to assigned service calls involving HVAC-R systems, including low-complexity repairs and adjustments to refrigeration units, beverage systems, ice machines, and related appliances.
- Troubleshoot minor plumbing, electrical, and mechanical issues across store locations.
- Maintain and manage service vehicle inventory, ensuring timely ordering and restocking of critical parts.
- Perform light equipment repairs including replacement of filters, hoses, nozzles, and other plug-and-play components.
- Install, test, and verify operation of basic replacement units or components as directed.
- Complete service logs and inventory tracking reports accurately and on time.
- Support and mentor less experienced technicians as needed in technical procedures and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Follow company and industry safety standards for refrigerant handling, tool use, and general job site safety.
- Use digital systems and applications to manage daily assignments, input service results, and document material usage.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, peers, and management regarding job status, issues, and follow-ups.
- May participate in ongoing facility support projects or assigned initiatives by the maintenance management team.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Solid understanding of electrical circuits, plumbing systems, and equipment troubleshooting.
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance and basic installations safely and efficiently.
- EPA 608 Universal Certification for refrigerant handling.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload daily.
- Familiarity with computer-based maintenance management systems.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise sound judgment.
- Comfortable navigating job requirements across multiple retail locations within a geographic area.
- Ability to safely use hand/power tools and perform light brazing work as needed.
- High personal standards for safety, quality, and accountability.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and fast-paced environments.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and working in varied environmental conditions.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience supporting retail, convenience store, or gas station facilities
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
