Position Overview:
The Extron New Product Introduction Department is searching for a Machinist to work in our Anaheim, CA location. The standard hours for this position will be 7:00am - 3:30pm Monday to Friday.
Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Programming CNC Milling machines and lathes using the latest version of Mastercam software.
- Programming, setting up and operating wire & sinker EDM's using Sodick controls.
- Setting up and operating 3 axis CNC milling machines with HAAS controls.
- Reading electro-mechanical component and assembly drawings, layouts, hand sketches or charts to determine material needed, sequence of operations, dimensions and tooling.
- Be hands on and operate grinders, punches, drill presses, press brake, band saws and other machine shop equipment.
- Exercise strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Required Qualifications: - High school diploma or GED.
- 5 years' experience programming CNC Milling machines & Lathes using the latest version of Mastercam software.
- 5 years' experience programming, setting up & operating Wire & Sinker Edm's using Sodick controls preferred.
- Experience setting up & operating 3 axis CNC Milling machines with HAAS controls.
- Experience in the set up & operation of Lathes, Conventional Milling machines and Surface Grinders.
- Experience in the design & fabrication of plastic injection molds a plus.
- Ability to read electro-mechanical component and assembly drawings, layouts, hand sketches or charts to determine material needed, sequence of operations, dimensions and tooling required.
- Expertise on sheet metal fabrication processes a plus, must be hands-on and able to operate grinders, punches, drill presses, press brake, band saws and other machine shop equipment.
- Ability to lift metal and plastic stock manually and position/securing it in the machine.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Strong attention to detail, highly organized, computer literate.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced professional office environment.
- Welding experience with (TIG/MIG/ARC/Oxyacetylene) a plus.
- Mastercam software training certificate a plus.
Salary Range: $33-35 per hour. Pay may vary depending on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
