Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting Clerk to join our finance team. The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting various accounting functions. This role is essential in ensuring that our financial data is accurate, up to date, and aligned with company standards and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update financial records including invoices, receipts, payments, and other transactions.
- Enter and process financial data using accounting software and spreadsheets with high accuracy.
- Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable/receivable, and other financial records regularly.
- Process vendor invoices, track due dates, and prepare payments in a timely manner.
- Monitor accounts receivable, record incoming payments, and follow up on overdue balances.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as balance sheets and income statements.
- Organize and maintain filing systems for financial documents and tax records.
- Support tax reporting and compliance by collecting necessary financial data.
- Collaborate with the finance team and other departments to ensure data consistency and accuracy.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Manager/Supervisor to support finance operations and other business needs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in accounting or related field preferred.
- 1–2 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
- Understanding of basic accounting principles and financial processes.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with both internal teams and external vendors.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
- Knowledge of GAAP and relevant tax regulations.
- Experience working in a healthcare or medical office environment is preferred.
