Summary: The Metal Manufacturing Training Specialist will organize, facilitate, and deliver training programs for front-line representative employees including clerical, supervisory, technical, and lower-level management staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Metal Manufacturing Training Specialist must be a self-motivator, work independently, and be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to:
- Plans, organizes, and effectively conducts employee training on various manufacturing processes including but not limited to metal fabrication, assembly, metal tacking, welding, and process control.
- Researches and identifies areas in which training is required and/or beneficial.
- Evaluates and modifies existing or proposed programs; suggests and implements suitable changes.
- Designs, drafts, and/or acquires new training materials.
- Collaborates with management to deliver training.
- Administers, scores, and logs results of qualification, learning assessment, and retention tests; arranges retraining or other appropriate action for insufficient scores.
- Facilitates delivery of training by setting up manufacturing cells with required parts and equipment; demonstrates correct processes; monitors and provides feedback to trainees; and performing other related tasks.
- Performs other related duties, as required.

Education and/or Experience:
- BS or BA Degree or a combination of education and 7+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably as a manufacturing lead or technician and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 7+ years of hands-on experience in metal manufacturing preferably in the aerospace industry.
- Experience with metal fabrication, assembly, metal tacking, and welding.
Required Skills:
- Language Skills:Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Mathematical Skills:Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Reasoning Ability:Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Other Skills and Abilities:Must have the ability to interact with employees / customers of all levels and cultural backgrounds; must have the ability to closely work with sheet metal workers and share knowledge.
