Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care in various healthcare settings, including nursing homes, behavioral health facilities, emergency medicine departments, operating rooms, and acute care units.
Responsibilities:
- Assist nursing staff in providing direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse
- Support patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding
- Take vital signs and record patient information accurately
- Aid in transporting patients within the facility
- Assist with phlebotomy procedures as needed
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Utilize medical terminology effectively in documentation and communication
Requirements:
- Certification as a Nursing Assistant or completion of a Nursing Assistant training program
- Familiarity with medical terminology and its application in healthcare settings
- Experience working in nursing homes, behavioral health facilities, emergency medicine departments, operating rooms, or acute care units is a plus
- Ability to phlebotomize is desirable
- Knowledge of Epic electronic health records system is advantageous
- Experience working with patients in critical care or pediatric settings is beneficial
