Job Summary
The Maintenance Electrician – Automation is responsible for maintaining, repairing, installing, and troubleshooting electrical and automated systems in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This role plays a key part in minimizing downtime and ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical equipment issues.
- Perform preventive maintenance and maintain accurate logs and reports.
- Install and maintain machinery, physical structures, and simple electrical systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair automated systems, including robotic and computer-controlled devices.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
- Collaborate with other departments to improve operational efficiency.
- Follow all safety protocols and GMP standards.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in automation technology or mechatronics preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an industrial maintenance electrician.
- Strong knowledge of PLCs, electrical circuits, and automation systems.
- Ability to read motor nameplates, wire motors, and use diagnostic tools (volt meter, amp probe, etc.).
- Experience with welding, soldering, and mechanical repairs.
- Must be certified as an Industrial Light Vehicle Operator (e.g., forklift).
- Strong math, computer, and communication skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently.
- Must be able to bend, reach, push/pull heavy equipment, and work in varying temperatures (sub-0° to 85°F).
- Regular standing, walking, and manual dexterity required.
