Pridestaff is currently seeking a Shop Assistant for a steel manufacturing company located in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. This is a full-time, contract to permanent position with opportunity to grow. Please see job requirements below to be considered.
- Pay Rate: $19-20
- Shift: Monday – Friday, 12:30pm to 9pm
Job Duties: The Shop Assistant will assist in various duties in the hardware area such as grinding, bending sheets, rolling sheets, and loading and unloading.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Help pull hardware
- Able to read work orders
- Grinding, bending sheet and rolling sheets
- Loading and Unloading in the Glomar Department
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bilingual (preferred)
- Mechanically inclined
- Must be flexible to perform other job duties in other departments
- Manufacturing experience preferred
Job Requirements:
- Must have at least 6 months experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
- Mechanically inclined – Ability to operate tools and machinery effectively including the ability to use a hand grinder.
- Flexibility – must be willing to perform various job duties across different departments.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs continuously.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Occasionally required to bend, kneel, crouch, reach, or crawl.
- Ability to work outside yard to load and unload when needed.
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
- Must have and wear steel toe shoes or boots or composite shoes throughout shift as well as assigned PPE (Ear plugs, safety glasses, etc.)
- Must be willing to submit to a drug test and criminal background check prior to start.
