Pridestaff is currently seeking a Shop Assistant for a steel manufacturing company located in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. This is a full-time, contract-to-permanent position with opportunities to grow. Please see the job requirements below to be considered.
- Pay Rate: $18-19
- Shift: Monday – Friday, 4:00 am to 12:30 pm
Job Duties: The Shop Assistant will assist the various departments in various duties such as powder coating, sand blasting, packaging, grinding, and cutting material. Will be cross-trained, and must be flexible to perform other job duties in other departments. As a Shop Assistant, you will assist in following the work instructions provided with each Work Order and will use company-supplied tools to complete tasks. As a Grinder, you will be responsible for smoothing and finishing materials as needed. May float to loading and unloading when needed.
Job Requirements:
- Must have at least 6 months of experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
- Experience preferred: Powder Coating, Sand Blasting, Manufacturing, Forklift Operation, (minimum 6 months preferred)
- Mechanically inclined – Ability to operate tools and machinery effectively, including the ability to use a hand grinder.
- Flexibility – must be willing to perform various job duties across different departments.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs continuously.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Occasionally required to bend, kneel, crouch, reach, or crawl.
- Ability to work outside the yard to load and unload when needed.
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
- Must have and wear steel-toe shoes or boots or composite shoes throughout shift as well as assigned PPE (Earplugs, safety glasses, etc.)
- Must be willing to submit to a drug test and criminal background check prior to start.
