Duties and responsibilities

Screen potential new clients by conducting telephonic intakes.
Communicate with clients to provide case updates and obtain new relevant case information.
Maintain daily calendar and schedules for attorneys, arranging appointments and meetings; making travel arrangements.
Organize and accurately maintain physical and electronic documents and files, including mail, e-service, and e-filed documents.
Create and maintain working files and binders as requested.
Demonstrate working knowledge of internet resources to perform basic legal and background research.
Assist paralegal and attorneys by preparing letters, reports, memoranda, presentations and other documents for court filings, depositions and trial.
Organize and prepare documents for production.

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree
Minimum 1 year of legal secretarial experience in litigation.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to apply strong attention to detail to all levels of work.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
Ability to work under pressure and complete job assignments in an accurate and timely manner.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective internal and external client relationships.
Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management and staff and a variety of external entities including clients and prospective clients of the Firm, opposing counsel, and court staff.
Highly proficient with Windows-based software used by the firm, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; Adobe Acrobat Pro, Lexis and Westlaw.
Fluency in Spanish (both conversational and written)

Salary and Benefits

Starting salary $50,000 per year (Exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience). Medical insurance. Paid time off.
