Job Summary
The Property Management Bookkeeper / Office Assistant will provide accounting and general administrative assistance to the Landlord of 135 units, mainly residential properties.
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our properties by assisting with various accounting and administrative tasks. This position requires strong organizational skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and proficiency in property management software.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Collect and sort mail
- Check emails, voicemail, and maintenance requests on Appfolio
- Run employee payroll and prospective tenant credit checks
- Prepare letters, tenant notices, leases, rent increases, and rent rolls
- Record tenant receipts
- Collect W-9 from vendors
- Prepare 1099s and financial reports as needed for income tax purposes and lender compliance
- Maintain general ledger, bank and credit card reconciliation
- Accounts payable
- Communicate regularly with and provide support to on-site property managers
- Knowledge of property taxes, city taxes, state taxes, ADP payroll, RSO & SCEP compliance, LAHD inspections, Section 8, and fair housing laws
Requirements:
- MUST have experience using Appfolio and Quickbooks Online. Do not apply if you do not have prior experience using this software.
- MUST be tech savvy with use of Microsoft office (Excel, Word), Adobe Acrobat, and Outlook
- MUST be detail oriented and organized
- Spanish speaking a plus
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
