Function:
The Apprentice Mechanic I performs maintenance, repairs, inspections, and alterations of aircraft and components under the direct supervision of an Authorized Certifier. This entry-level role supports the Repair Station’s operations and ensures all tasks are completed in accordance with FAA regulations and company standards.
Essential Duties and Competencies:
- Assist in the servicing, repair, alteration, and inspection of aircraft, engines, and components as authorized by the Repair Station, under the direct supervision of a Certifier.
- Repair, replace, and assemble airframe, engine, and system parts and components in accordance with technical data, with Certifier oversight.
- Review and utilize applicable manufacturer manuals, Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs), Airworthiness Directives (ADs), and service bulletins to ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards.
- Perform or assist with operational and functional tests of aircraft, engine systems, and authorized articles under Certifier supervision.
- Carry out additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Maintain close coordination with the Certifier for all tasks being performed to ensure full compliance and proper supervision.

Education/Experience:
High school diploma
Airport Experience

Knowledge of departmental and FAA rules and regulations.
Knowledge of the operation of flight instruments.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with personnel.
Work effectively with other staff members and management staff.
Familiarity with aviation safety and maintenance practices is an asset.
Must be physically fit and able to work in tight spaces or at heights.
Willingness to work various shifts, including nights and weekends.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
